Avex Music Group has emerged as a publishing powerhouse under CEO Brandon Silverstein’s leadership, with its roster placing multiple tracks in the upper reaches of the Billboard Hot 100 during the first half of 2025. The company’s producers have crafted hits for Drake, Tate McRae, and Travis Scott, demonstrating the breadth of talent Silverstein has assembled since taking the helm in March.
Drake’s “Nokia,” produced by Avex signee Elkan, climbed to No. 2 on the Hot 100, while fellow AMG producer Elyas saw similar success with “What Did I Miss?”, also reaching the runner-up position. Elkan added another credit to his resume as a producer on Travis Scott’s JACKBOYS 2, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
“In just a few short months since forming AMG, our artists have seen extraordinary success on the charts and on the road,” Silverstein said in a July statement.
Grant Boutin’s Tate McRae Collaboration Fuels Radio Success
AMG songwriter and producer Grant Boutin has become a key architect of Tate McRae’s recent commercial surge. His work on her album So Close To What yielded “Sports Car,” which topped the Mediabase Top 40 chart, and “Revolving Door,” a Billboard Dance/Pop No. 1. Most recently, “TIT FOR TAT” entered the Hot 100 at No. 3.
Boutin’s versatility extends beyond pop. He co-wrote “Lose My Mind” for Don Toliver and Doja Cat, featured on the F1 soundtrack, showcasing AMG’s reach across multiple genres and high-profile placements.
The publishing division’s momentum builds on a foundation Silverstein established before Avex acquired 100% of S10 Music Publishing earlier this year. That catalog already included chart-toppers like Justin Bieber’s “Peaches,” Tate McRae’s “Greedy,” and Doja Cat’s “Agora Hills.”
Brandon Silverstein Expands Beyond Publishing
While publishing achievements dominate headlines, Silverstein has diversified AMG’s portfolio. We The Band, Justin Bieber’s touring musicians, officially joined the roster in June. Member Harv produced and co-wrote Bieber’s “Swag,” which debuted at No. 2 on the charts.
AMG artist Shenseea scored a No. 1 at Urban Radio with “Shake It To The Max,” accumulating over 200 million Spotify streams. The track’s success demonstrates AMG’s ability to break artists across different formats and platforms.
Management client Myke Towers launched an international tour supporting his album Island Boyz, which debuted at No. 2 on Spotify’s Global Album Debuts chart in July. S10 Management has added three additional artists to its roster, though their identities remain undisclosed.
Japanese acts under the Avex umbrella have also gained traction in Western markets. ONE OR EIGHT became the first J-pop boy group to crack the U.S. Mediabase Top 40 with “DTSM,” following their Atlantic Records deal. XG made their Coachella debut and completed a world tour that drew 400,000 attendees across 18 countries.
New Signings Position AMG for Continued Growth
Silverstein has continued adding talent throughout 2025. Kamal Wilson joined AMG in October after co-writing Kehlani’s No. 1 Rhythmic and Urban radio hit “Folded.” The track reached No. 3 on Apple Music and sparked viral vocal challenges featuring artists like Brandy and Eric Bellinger.
“Kamal represents everything we believe in at Avex — global talent, creativity, and cultural impact,” Silverstein said when announcing the deal.
The company’s A&R efforts received reinforcements with the addition of Tay James, Justin Bieber’s longtime A&R and DJ, and Miles Beard, former Head of A&R at Republic Records, both joining as Senior A&R Consultants.
Avex Music Group now operates from dual studio facilities in West Hollywood and Los Angeles, plus a new midtown Manhattan office. This bicoastal infrastructure supports Silverstein’s vision of building what he calls “a boutique major with a global perspective.”
Founded in 1988, parent company Avex employs more than 1,500 people across 10 offices worldwide and generated nearly $1 billion in revenue during 2024. The company manages over 500 artists and operates Avex Artist Academy, which auditions more than 10,000 candidates annually.
Silverstein’s track record extends beyond his current role. Before becoming AMG CEO, he founded S10 Entertainment in 2017 and built a publishing catalog that accumulated over 40 billion streams and produced 20 No. 1 songs across three years. His work has earned recognition from Billboard’s “Power 100” and Forbes’ “30 Under 30.”
AMG’s publishing division shows no signs of slowing. With producers and writers regularly appearing on tracks by the industry’s biggest names, Silverstein has positioned the company as an essential player in contemporary pop and hip-hop production.
